You are not alone

We are all living in such uncertain times.

Each and everyone of us are all being affected, no one is untouched by this.

I am acutely aware that many of you are feeling very frightened and very isolated and alone.

Being estranged/alienated from your grandchildren makes everyone feel isolated and this is just making it worse.

I am so concerned about the mental health of so many of you, please remember that we are still here for you all, we may not be able to meet up face to face but we are still able to chat on the phone, email or Skype. Let me know if you would like to Skype.

Yesterday I had a trial run of a virtual meeting via Google Meet, we had one or two glitches but we will smooth those out as we do more.

Google Meet is very easy to use, I send you a link and at the arranged date and time you click on that link and it will take you to the meet up.

In theory you can have 200 participants!

Actually that would be unworkable, so I will put a limit on how many for each meeting.

It would be good to have some ideas of what you might like to discuss.

No -one needs to be sitting worrying in their home alone, BGSG is still here for you all.

It is worth thinking that we now have millions and millions of grandparents who are finding themselves distant from their grandchildren, I am already hearing from them.

I would just like to thank all of our NHS staff and carers who are putting themselves in the front line of this, their care and compassion is second to none, and we are all so grateful.

Thank you NHS.
