Who will fight for grandchildren’s rights?

We all know now that we are having a General Election in December.

This is the third time that an election has been called, just when we are so close to having the rights of grandchildren recognised. For grandchildren to continue having a loving and caring relationship with their grandparents after family breakdown.

4 million children don’t care about elections, they just want to have those they love in their lives.

So yes we are back to square one, and beginning again with whoever is in post in the New Year.

For us it makes no difference which political party is in power,  we will work with anyone, to champion the rights of grandchildren.

I have no doubt that you will be having representatives of each and every party banging on your door wanting your vote, I would suggest that you ask all of them if they will support a change in the law.

Sadly in the meantime anyone who has set up a petition or have written to their MP’s, will have their petition pulled and MP’s won’t reply.

I would be lying if I said it is not disheartening and frustrating, it is, but we have to look to the future and to start the process all over again as and when we know the result.

Getting to know MP’s and Ministers and building up relationships takes time and tenacity.

BGSG will always be a voice for our grandchildren, their voices must be heard.

Whoever ends up being our Government must recognise that family breakdown is playing an enormous part in the terrible mental health of our young people, everyone must acknowledge and recognise that parental and grandparent alienation is Emotional Abuse.
