Letter to my Granddaughter.

Dear L……..,

What to say, how to put in words all the thoughts that go around in my head constantly?

It is now nearly 8 years since we all saw you and I suspect a great deal of things have gone on in your young life, some good some not so good, but I know that you will have dealt with all that life throws at you in your own way.

I try to imagine you as you are now, but all I can see when I close my eyes is a little girl of 7, playing and having fun. I remember so many laughs, so much glue and glitter, great memories each and every one.

The years have gone by so quickly, new members of the family have been born some have left their time on earth, but life goes on.

As I get older I reflect more often, I think of the ‘If only’ but it is a pointless exercise because it is never any good looking back, we are where we are and we have to make the most of it, and look to the future with Hope.

There is nothing more annoying as a young person when someone older says ,’in my day or you will understand when you are my age,’ but there is some truth in that hopefully the longer we live we do know the things that are important.

The most important thing in life is to be loved or to love.

I would love to sit with you, to share your stories, to laugh again with you, just to know about your life.

Always know that you are loved by us all, you are in our hearts every single moment of time, and we are all here for you. All you have to do is to ask.

Whatever you are doing, always carry on dreaming, reach for those dreams enable others to dream.

Live your live to the full, feel the joy of living, smile at someone today and make a difference.

As always, love to you from us all, darling.

Gran.x
