Has your estranged grandchild been adopted?

As you know the ethos of Bristol Grandparents Support Group is one of hope, to never give up.

There is one situation where this is really difficult, to have any hope,  that is when grandparents find themselves in the awful situation where their grandchildren have been adopted, possibly due to the fact that the children’s parent/parents are unable to look after the children for all sorts of reasons.

Of course you would automatically assume that if children are in difficult homes that the authorities would look to other family members to help, and in some cases that does happen.

Sadly many grandparents only find out when it is too late for them to be able to step in.

If you are a grandparent who is  facing this, I wonder if you would find it helpful to link up with others like yourselves. If so please contact me, and I will see what I can do.
