It seems as though we are all surrounded by experts.
Experts in family breakdown, experts in parenting, experts in relationships and we can surround ourselves with articles on every subject we might be interested in.
Of course many years of learning and training do make people experts in their field, but for me it is the person who has experienced for themselves a certain subject that makes them the proper experts.
This is especially true when looking for help and support around estrangement/alienation.
If you are an alienated parent/grandparent you are the experts.
As the reality of alienation becomes fact, there are hundreds if not thousands of groups and organisations popping up all over the place.
A search on any search engine will bring up countless websites for us to investigate.
We do have too, however, become discerning.
Find out the credentials of the owner of websites, find out where they get their information from.
All of the groups listed on our website in the ‘In Your Area,’ section make up our Council of Wisdom.
Each and every leader of the listed support groups, are experts, because they have all experienced alienation from their grandchildren, they fully understand every grandparent who contacts them, there is no judgement, just honest and open support.
Our Council of Wisdom is vital, particularly when raising awareness of the emotional abuse of alienation and the ‘living bereavement,’ of being denied contact with these precious people.
It is the strength of the Council of Wisdom that will prevail. The strength of each and every one of us working together and sharing our expertise.
There is no place for egos or self promotion.
The only thing we should be promoting is the Rights of Grandchildren.
