Aims and Objectives.
The aims and objectives shall be for the public benefit to relieve the distress and suffering of grandparents who are separated from their grandchildren due to the breakdown of family relationships in particular but not exclusively by the provision of support, education and information.
The focus for the year.
Our main objectives for the year has been to continue to give support to grandparents who are feeling isolated and alone due to estrangement with their grandchildren due to family breakdown, in all its forms. We use a variety of strategies to meet these objectives.
- Giving support on our helpline and via email, and at our regular meetings. Virtual meetings when necessary.
- Assisting grandparents to set up self-help groups or link ups in their own areas.
- By working with other agencies to secure the widest range of help and support for our service users.
- Alerting a range of services of the issues involved when a grandparent is estranged e.g. Medical Practitioners, Counsellors, Clergy ect.
How our activities deliver public benefit.
Our activities ensure that grandparents are not alone, that they can share their feelings and begin the process of looking forward. Grandparents can then go on to help and support others who find themselves in this situation.
