I am all for people having a rant, and it is true that we have to let go of all the angst we might hold inside us.

What I will never understand is why people find it necessary to talk about their estranged family members in the way they do, publicly.

Any forum you go on you will find those who are denying contact and those who are denied contact describing each other in the most odious of ways.

Whichever side you are coming from, to call another person toxic, poisonous and wishing each other dead, is unacceptable.

What on earth will the children/grandchildren think when in years to come they read this dreadful stuff either about a parent, grandparent or any family member.

Yes the hurt is intolerable at times, but we don’t have to stoop to another persons level.

Before the days of Facebook, Twitter and forums all of this was kept private, not out there for all to see, once these abusive things are said they can rarely be unsaid.

How would you explain to your children/grandchildren why you said these horrible things about someone they loved?

As adults we have a responsibility to behave in a certain way, and slagging one another off on social media is most definitely not the way, when I read some of these comments I am ashamed.

Children are children and they learn by example, so when they turn around and start saying similar stuff, whose fault is it?

Whatever the children/grandchildren may have been told about us, it is not for us to behave in a way that only adds fuel to the fire.

So the next time you feel like writing something that is derogatory, turn off your computer and go for a walk instead!
